The parishioners of the Church of St. Sophia, which is located in the city of Lviv on the I. Franko Street, have been our regular donors for almost a year. They contribute to the fund both with donations and work.
The other day, Mr. Anatoly, who is a part of the church’s “ten”, brought 17,525 UAH from the parishioners. And they have been doing this systematically for almost a year – about UAH 20,000 each month.
“We wanted to help, but it was also important to make sure that our contributions went according to the intended purpose. Because you may have heard of multiple reports of fraud, – says Mr. Anatoliy – And I have known Yuriy (Tanasiychuk, the head of the fund – ed.) for a long time, so I invited him to our church to meet with the people so they could hear from him and be sure that their donations will definitely reach the addressees”.
“I have never been a speaker at church before,” – Yuriy joked at the time. – But I came and inspired people to action”.
That’s how the cooperation began. The have been contributing with monthly donations, 3D printing (the parishioners who have 3D printers at home help us with such printing), as well as weaving camouflage nets and balaclavas.
“At one point in time our church had suffered a lot. We know for sure that the Church cannot stand aside. Because if there is no Ukraine, there will be no church either,” concludes Mr. Anatoliy.
We thank the ten members of the church, also thank you to the abbot Fr. Taras Savchuk and to all parishioners. Together we will stand!
